adaptability is a great virtue

I cannot tell my dad to use only enough water while shaving, I cannot tell my father-in-law to be cognizant about vote bank politics, I cannot tell myself to rinse and get the milk/curd packets dried before throwing them in the bin...oh but I can say anything to my kid, for now! So the point is it's not that my father or father-in-law or some elderly person (which also includes me!) are unaware of what they are doing but some things just cannot change! U bet! I'm sure all of us would have seen a bit of it in all of us. What do you think would have been a proper way for us to change? Get most of the things right at the right age. That's why I said that I can try teaching anything to my kid. When I was a kid there was no such thing as garbage segregation as people never felt the need to do it. Now there is so much hue and cry about the dispose of garbage, of course it has to be, as we reached the verge of unthinkable unimaginable diseases people are contracting these days. S...

Pure is not so sure but customization definitely is

If at all there is some free time, where is it all going for a full time mom? Most of it goes on internet and online shopping these days! There are 100 websites, 200 brands, 300 products, 400 likes, 500 comments, 600 reviews, 700 discounts, 800 free home deliveries.......please somebody stop it, am I really getting any help here? May be, may be not! No kitchen is complete without salt and this poor human being just wanted to buy some salt, spare me :( !! Yes this is no exaggeration dear ones, I just wanted to buy some salt along with other things during my online grocery shopping, on a sleepy tired day! and I ended up reading articles again! Again, but this time on which salt to buy! please do not LOL now! Pity me! And pity you! Because that salt gyan is actually required, to me and to all of you. I just got to know that salt is a mineral after all and first of all and not a spice! something that we use only to satisfy the taste buds actually is a mineral and not a mere seasoning. Now...

'No vote' is a welcome sign

After all, everybody has a right to vote and not vote, isn't it? If you don't vote does that simply mean you have lost the right to blame the government also? That's big debate! It is the right of a person not to vote, but that 'no vote' from the government is a welcome sign. If at all there is a 100% voting in India, I am sure in most places the 'no vote' wins the elections with greatest majority ever in the history of Indian elections! Oh that's not a good sign but! hmm what does that mean? Should the election commission go on conducting re-elections in those 'no vote' won areas? Don't you think they will enter a loop of conducting elections again and again? When does the government form? Lot of questions! It might not mean there are not any good leaders out there, but it definitely means people have lost the trust in the election candidates. So why not let people nominate their candidates as well, keeping a limit on number of candidates t...

Life is not complicated but you are!

What is called a happy life? Happy life ought to be something which gives you happiness if you just stay the way you are! No I am not talking about being in a stagnant position throughout your life...but also not adding too much pressure to the natural living to reach the mindless goals, schedules, deadlines, running running and running!!! The grandmother lives were simple...clean, cook, eat, work, sleep...and the work is such that, that you fulfill the responsibilities satisfactorily. Fulfilling responsibilities doesn't only mean doing your job well that is required for a livelihood and making money, but also as a responsible family member. And that responsible family member work was never tiring, they are not complaining about it even after they reached the granny stage! But I can see people now are segregated into three streams 1. you are a workaholic for trying to meet your deadline on professional front/making money/chase your dreams. Chasing your dreams is what every person ...

Call it KISS lessons

Of all the lessons life teaches you, the ones that are learnt by raising and growing up with a kid are so impressive. They teach us how to be patient, give space to others, demand what you want and yet not to hurt others deliberately. So simple, yet so focused! You call it simple because as a kid you eat only when you are hungry and sleep when you have to. You don’t plan all the simple things in life, just take it as it comes your way. Forgetting is another great example! Kids don’t remember when mommy/daddy shouts at them for all the silly day-to-day stuff! They either forgive or forget or do both. They just teach you – just relax and move on in life, don’t waste the time on unnecessary grudges! Hope everybody has a smooth uninhabited transition to be a kid whenever they need to be one! KISS – keep it simple silly!

Freedom & Crackers!

Childhood was so simple. There were fewer doubts, less worries and more joy with so little. Ignorance is bliss. Becoming older has just brought more questions about everything. It’s good to question everything instead of believing it blindly. But at the same time it just keeps you away from the joy. Lighting crackers was a joy as a kid irrespective of the quantity and quality of crackers. But the questions like – why should we light crackers if it’s polluting the environment? What happens if no crackers are fired? – might make you more responsible human towards the environment but a dull, less contended person at heart as you end up not having a full fledged celebration. It would have been great if your joy was not bound by external factors like environment and crackers. Freedom from everything is what one requires!

forgiveness

what makes the quality, forgiving so special ? It's the art which many ppl might not know including me. But once you start doing it, for right reasons ofcourse, it gives you a sense of completeness and accomplishment of doing something good. I know it is very hard to break down all those barriers preventing you to forgive someone. First of all, the thought of forgiving someone comes only when that person is so close to your heart. That person should be someone before whom you would not hesitate to bend your head down. Self respect is a great virtue which everyone should possess. But one should not have obsession of the same. With such kind of obsession,  you tend to never forgive the one you love. Even if you tend to forgive, that is only within you and you will not be able to convey the same to your loved one. Friend, make up your mind before that someone looses the value of you in their inner self.
