Two fathers...unlimited love!

To the two most amazing fathers I have known so far! To the father who thinks beyond money who thinks daughters are no less to sons who thinks the best thing he could give his daughters is their education who never thinks that cooking is only a woman's job and still cooks at home who prepares much loved home-made pickle for her daughter instead of getting the store brought one who doesn't care what others think when he is doing the right thing who defied the societal rules and went out of his way just to give a beautiful life to his daughter in her rightful way! Happy Father's Day dear Dad! To the father who delivered his baby with the same (or may be more!) grit, passion and pain as his wife, excepting the physical pain and scars! who takes care of his kid also like a mother who never shows patriarchy who is never tired and always plays along with his child, almost like a sibling who never minded changing diapers, cleaning bum or giving bath to his baby wh...

Are you in love?

Love knows no boundaries, love is unconditional, love has no rules and love is blind! Ah, so true and so false! To love and to be loved is such an amazingly special feeling that I wish everyone to go through in their lives. But don't be bogged down by unnecessary expectations and mindless imagination! When you start picturing yourself this way, let me tell you my friend, it is only going to make you taste the sourness of the relationship. The initial days of any relationship is only colorful and sweet and awesome and wonderful and all the other ear-soothing adjectives! It is hard and you would not be willing to think beyond rationales at this stage, even though the relationship demands otherwise impossible things. By the time you realize the loop you are in, you will be labelled as the head strong arrogant person who could not have a softer heart to say yes for those unreasonable things which slowly start making sense to you. The rhymes that my kid listens to are ringing in my...

Be organic!

This post is being written for the #MomsforaBetterWorld Project by women's web The water will be very cold, I don’t think I can spare so much time, I might get a bad tan, anyway how much can I learn in few months and worse thing, I might just drown! Uh-oh! Life is complicated; this is not going to happen with me! My body and mind just start giving me all the wrong and improper reasons for not learning the things which I consider essential, swimming-in this case. And this is the nth time I am postponing the thought of learning how to drive, irrespective of the fact that I learnt and drove a few times and left it long back. But I still feel the need for it! This is how most of us feel in different situations. While the problems look miniscule, overcoming them can become a Herculean task.  The most basic skills of life, which I have figured out over the years, that one ought to learn are – basic cooking, basic self-defense, basic driving, basic swimming and a passi...

Work in progress

Recently I have learned the definition of philosophy - working out the best way to think about things. And I could really relate to it when I am trying to work on myself. When was the last time you worked on yourself? By assessing yourself whether you are treating the things or others with all the respect that they deserve, neither less nor exaggerating it. Nobody can be perfect, but that should not stop us from becoming a better individual. We do this questioning very rarely because may be we were afraid that we might have to move a bit from our comfort zones. These zones are so big and so deep and so tall that we think that there is no way we can ever come out of it. This thought makes us think - why give a try if it's not going to happen ever? But in reality we are not at a luxury that we can actually postpone or ignore this if it's really something that disturbs the natural way of treating anything. Whenever I try to work upon myself, if I'm at the giving end, then tru...

What a child really needs?

I feel that I am a kid all over again. No, not physically, but the kind of learning which has just started for me now! It's not about any subjects of the school years but the real process and approach of learning anything, which had started during my childhood and stopped abruptly, don't know when? Might be during my last years at school? As that was the stage when we really started thinking about future and it had no clarity, till date! Having no clarity also is bit ok but one should never loose the enthusiasm in knowing little things in the process of getting clarity. But the scary part is that this kind of unwarranted-no clarity-no enthusiasm state has actually started happening from the baby stage these days. Just imagine how vulnerable they can turn out to be if they are raised in that state? Hard to even imagine! That is what made me thinking. Being a mom, agree that every mom wants to give her best to her kids, but understanding what is best for kids in current world is...

adaptability is a great virtue

I cannot tell my dad to use only enough water while shaving, I cannot tell my father-in-law to be cognizant about vote bank politics, I cannot tell myself to rinse and get the milk/curd packets dried before throwing them in the bin...oh but I can say anything to my kid, for now! So the point is it's not that my father or father-in-law or some elderly person (which also includes me!) are unaware of what they are doing but some things just cannot change! U bet! I'm sure all of us would have seen a bit of it in all of us. What do you think would have been a proper way for us to change? Get most of the things right at the right age. That's why I said that I can try teaching anything to my kid. When I was a kid there was no such thing as garbage segregation as people never felt the need to do it. Now there is so much hue and cry about the dispose of garbage, of course it has to be, as we reached the verge of unthinkable unimaginable diseases people are contracting these days. S...

Pure is not so sure but customization definitely is

If at all there is some free time, where is it all going for a full time mom? Most of it goes on internet and online shopping these days! There are 100 websites, 200 brands, 300 products, 400 likes, 500 comments, 600 reviews, 700 discounts, 800 free home deliveries.......please somebody stop it, am I really getting any help here? May be, may be not! No kitchen is complete without salt and this poor human being just wanted to buy some salt, spare me :( !! Yes this is no exaggeration dear ones, I just wanted to buy some salt along with other things during my online grocery shopping, on a sleepy tired day! and I ended up reading articles again! Again, but this time on which salt to buy! please do not LOL now! Pity me! And pity you! Because that salt gyan is actually required, to me and to all of you. I just got to know that salt is a mineral after all and first of all and not a spice! something that we use only to satisfy the taste buds actually is a mineral and not a mere seasoning. Now...
